Alan!
Put down that spray! There's no way you can get to the ASA's VR without
taking the top cover off of your OM-2s - and that's the culprit. If you
do try the spray, it's going to get into the finder and other delicate
mechanisms, and _then_ you'll be sorry! The ASA needs to be cleaned and
coated with a protective coating to prevent the erratic display.
The OM-2 and OM-2n don't have a VR coupled to the aperture ring - it's a
mechanical device that physically alters the galvo's position. I
suspect that the wire going to the meter has broken and makes
intermittant connection (or, in this case, intermittant
_dis-connection_!).
