I'm a bit puzzled by this. If I send something to you via insured Priority Mail, say an OM-1 as a Birthday gift, and the postoffice loses it, will they not make good on the stated value just because there is no receipt involved? If they will make good, why would an auction transaction be held to such a higher standard?
