Re price increases, my 1995 DK price list shows (8kr = $1):
35-80/2.8 15,485 (only zoom still
available)
90/2 10,590
180/2 68,442
250/2 101,900
350/2.8 101,900
Note that the 25ales tax is included.
I think prices have probably been stable since then.
An interesting item from this (dealer) price list is a fixed price list for
repairs. This covered pretty much any repair; the price depended on the camera
type, not what was wrong. Thus the dealer did not have to wait for a quote from
Olympus Denmark. For instance,
OM-1, OM-2n, OM-2SP, OM-3 720kr + 25ales tax (+ whatever the dealer
cared to add!)
OM-2, OM-4, OM -4Ti 1080kr + +
OM-4 (new circuit or shutter) 1440kr + +
Interesting that it cost more to repair an OM-2 than to repair a -2n !

>I have a Danish Olympus price list from early 1987 (unfortunately they
>don't make lists like this anymore).
>In DKK (at the moment, about 8,5 DKK = 1 US$) the prices were:
>35-70/3.5-4.5 2470
>35-70/3.6 6600
>35-70/4 2925
>35-70/4 AF 8145 (the old one for the OM 30)
>35-105 5355
>65-200 5280
>85-250 10335
>Roughly, the Danish prices are about twice of those listed by Roger.
>Since 1987, the list prices of the lenses still available have gone up
>50-100 %.
>One of the reasons the Danish prices are much higher than the American
>prices is the 25 % VAT, but also because Olympus is more expensive in
>Denmark than most other places.
