This will not be an "el cheapo" camera, so optical quality might be
appropriated.

I, have heard that Ricoh USA is now digital only. Is it dificult for
Ricoh USA to sell high price, high quality cameras?

I guess it's an GRIN, gradual index lens. On earlier occasions,
Olympus (and others) had shown prototypes of such lenses as well.
Olympus GRIN lens was an 85mm/1.4 lens. <drool>

The panoramic adapter I have is called scissors and is compatible with
models of all manufactors.
