Cock the shutter and let it sit awhile. Then, set camera to manual 1/2000
and fire it. If problem is due to an oily magnet, this is a good test, the
shutter could stay open for up to 1 second.

Subject: [OM] Slow shutter in OM-4: could it be the circuit?
| The shutter of this OM-4 is acting strangely. It is, with some consistency
| across the whole range, about a half stop slow. Batteries are new. The
| question is, can this be tuned out easily enough, or is this a sign that
| the notorious circuit issue has come up with this body? Lastly, the
| "battery check shut-off after more than thirty seconds" test reveals that
| this body is probably has the older, problematic circuirty.
|
| Any insight/experiences would be much appreciated.
|
| Thanks,
|
