I have an add-on for the Olympus FAQ:
this is for section B3 (OM2S,3-4{TI},40/PC eats batteries)
I made a measurement of the circuit-drain from two OM 40/PC
one was a battery eater (battery set gone in 2 1/2 weeks), but this
is solved. Seems to be some dust on contacts. No IC shortage.
The measurement is taken from different versions of the OM40/PC
SerNo 1.0xx.xxx and 1.1xx.xxx (different mirror/frame in mirror box)
I list nearly all possible conditions that
make any sense (I think)- so this is somehow lengthy:
A table is best to view this stuff:
The range of some values is on both cameras the same and is
consistent. All measurements were taken indoors with an extra
light source. The cameras were pointed to and from the light source
to see their reaction in light measuring/change of mA consumption
and to get the ESP icon in the viewfinder on. Higher values
appear in pointing the cameras to the light source.
