This one always appears on "How to Buy Lenses" advice - check for oil on
diaphragm. I suspect it's the result of inept repairs. Some advise not to
store lenses upright as it can cause 'pooling' of internal lubricants on
diaphragms (careful - unintentional OT humour alert).
