New T1/Dual T28 is about $600. A macro flash ring and a couple of eBAY T20s
or T32s (so you don't have to find the T20 connectors or machine the special
plate) are a real bargain.

Regarding Olympus T28 ringflash. I decided to attempt to produce a "poor
mans version. Already having spare flash leads and a T20 flashgun I Am in
the process of putting together the following.
2 T20 flashguns - with T20 to cable adapters fitted - the flash
leads running into an Olympus multi-flash socket and then into Olympus
multi pin camera socket, or to hot shoe via cable to hot shoe adapter.
The flash guns will mount to the front of the lens using a macro
flash shoe ring intended for use with a T28 flash set up..(ring kindly
supplied by Lex Jenkins......Thanks Lex!)
For the grand master plan to succeed I need to machine a
plate...essentially a flash gun foot to slide into the macro shoe ring and
screw (1/4" B.S.W.) into the base of the T20 adapters.
On reflection it might have been simpler, but not as cost effective
or as much fun to just buy a T28 macro flash set-up. I will let members
know I get on and if the setup works!!!!!!!!!!
