I agree, Chip, and admit I've been guilty of perpetuating the noise through
my reluctance to let those with opposing viewpoints have the final say. And
I actually enjoy a challenging debate. In fact, I'm wondering whether my
presence on the list has led to lengthier and more contentious debates
because I do enjoy it - which isn't necessarily a good thing. But I got it
out of my system last night, so I'm ready to move on to more pleasant and
creative topics. And I'll try to moderate my own rhetoric.

I do enjoy the sense of community on this list, and the occasional off
topic
rambles add to the flavor, but please oh please for a little more
moderation....
I hate to be an 'old stick in the mud', and don't fancy myself to be a net
policeman, but the list's OM signal-to-noise ratio has really deteriorated
lately!
Sorry in advance for the additional background noise, but having
successfully struggled to hold my tongue (er, fingers) on the subjects of
Porsches, politics, and pea-shooters, I felt I deserved to whine a little.
