Good to hear that things have changed a bit since the '80s Porsches - 944s
and 928s from that era didn't seem to be put together any better than a
'vette. Not bad, better than most, but way inferior to a Mercedes, which
I'd still take over any car on the road for all around driving if I could
afford one. Tougher than most trucks, excellent fit and finish, more than
adequate power, with surprisingly good handling for a reciprocating ball
steering mechanism. Cruising at 90 mph feels like 55. Driving over bombed
out East Coast road craters feels like minor ripples. And I never got the
looks of admiration driving anything else like I did with a Mercedes. Except
maybe my Honda VT500.

Its also nice that porsche is bettering their fit and finish issues.
