One of my wintertime projects is to wire an OM-4 directly into
the winder, taking current from after the first two AA batteries...
If anybody knows why this won?t work, let me know before I trash a
perfectly good OM-4...
Why "trash" your OM-4? John H will sell you a new battery cap for a
few bux. Put a hole in it for the wire, add a bit of proper-sized
dowel and copper foil, and you've got a dummy battery for pumping in
the power.
This is what I've done for a cold weather battery. I run it via some
tiny silver/teflon coax I got at a ham flea market into a couple
lithium AA cells in my pocket, and I can keep shooting well below 0 F
for hours.
