Dear OMers,
a long while ago I posted a source for name brand $0.63
(US) silver oxide 357 batteries (sr44 case). I recently found their website
and found the price listed as $1.25 in singles. Pricing for 2 + was listed as
"enquire".
So if you can't get 357's inexpensively locally or want to bulk buy you might
try them:
Future/Active Electronics : http://www.future-active.com/subcat.asp?cat=CAT40
The Future Part # is : 303/357-1W
These are listed as Rayo-vac cells. From what specs I was able to get from
vendors previously, it appeared Everready 357 cells had slightly higher
capacity than either Rayo-vac or Varta. Future used to sell both Rayo-vac and
Varta cells. Note: the designated part number implies the cell is marked as
303 as well as 357. The 303 and 357 cells have almost identical specs so
vendors (apart from Everready), often make only one cell to cover both part
numbers.
The company also has about 15 retail stores in Canada and the US so you might
look them up to see if there is a local outlet near you. The company is
headquartered in Canada.

I have only dealt with the parent wholesale division (which is quite
seperate) so i can't recommend this vendor from any personal experience.
