I use the cheap, long-haired Chinese brushes sold in arts and crafts shops
for all kinds of dusting and cleaning. They're shaped like a standard flat
brush for house painting or oil/acrylic art painting. I like the long
fibers 'cause besides being tough if one breaks off it's usually long enough
to fish it out of a tight spot.
For tougher grime I use cotton swabs moistened with distilled water for
leatherette, rubbing alcohol for the metal. I'd avoid using any kind of
solvent - alcohol, etc. - on the leatherette since it might loosen the
adhesive backing. I might use a very dilute solution of Simple Green or
something similar for leatherette and plastic parts if really necessary, but
always wipe it off thoroughly.
