About a 1 or 1 1/2 year ago it developed this problem. When put on the
camera, it will advance one frame and lock up the camera. It won't expose nor
will the camera operate. If I then remove the winder, the camera operates
totally normally and is again fully functional. Yesterday, I ran across it
in one of the draws I was cleaning out and decided to ask the list if there
was an answer.

Hi Garry:
I bought a Winder 2 off eBay which caused my OM-2 to act the same way.
I had to remove the battery contacts in the Winder 2 and clean them before
it would work. Although they looked reasonably clean, there was a bit of
battery corrosion on the contacts which prevented full current flow,
therefore
preventing proper function. Later I bought another eBay Winder 2 which was
labeled "Non-functional" and "AS IS." Same problem. Same solution. Since
cleaning they both work great both with the OM-2 and an 0M-4.
