Based several testimonials from list members and some online reviews, I am
considering buying an Acer ScanWit 2720S. Online prices seem to run in the
$450-475 (US) range. There are at least four serial ebay sellers hawking
this model, new, and their auctions have averaged around $353 closing price.
It seems that they are getting the unit at a dealer cost that allows them to
make money selling it at $100 off the discounted retail price.
I'm pretty cheap. Anyone have any thoughts on how to pursue the lowest
possible price for a NIB ScanWit? I have emailed two of the CONUS sellers
asking their outright sale price. Of course I could just start bidding
eBay - one unit has gone at $320.75 auction price.
Do any of the North Texas list members own one of these scanners that I
might see in person? I haven't found one in a store to look at.
