I'm guessing the matte black paint or whatever it is on the inside of the
lens barrels to minimize flare occasionally flakes off and winds up inside
the lens. Probably doesn't make much difference on photos. Unless, by black
specks, you mean sunglasses. *That* could be a problem.

I discovered much to my shock and frustration, them darn !@#%^ black specks
inside my favourite Zuiko 85/2 lens...... !!!!!!
What causes it ? Do things fall into it ?
