True, amongst audiophilers in the 70s, Pioneer was thought of as low end
and a user of "cheap parts", like non-linear volume controls.

Well, we don't need a flame war here --- BUT!!! :-) To equate Oly with
Pioneer is (IMHO) simply wrong. There are some 4-5 makers of quality 35mm
SLR's -- the comparable Audio brands might include Adcom, Macintosh,
Denon -- etc. Maybe even Dyna/Hafler.. Certainly Harmon Kardon is currently
good, but the name has a checkered past, much more so than Leica -- not
that this is of great importance in any case!
