Doesn't have to be anything like Coca-Cola ... a drop of sweat or condensed
moisture could cause enough corrosion in an area with close tolerances to
result in a problem like that, especially mixed with even the tiniest amount
of dust or debris. Maybe not any chromed parts, but springs are pretty
vulnerable.

Everyone seems to think I poured Cola or something in the shutter. I
didn't, and when I examine under the winder-cap, something that is always
covering that hole, I don't see any goo. Perhaps some goo got in there,
and
I can't see it. I just don't know when or how.
