You also need to file down the little tab to get them to seat properly in an
OM-1(n) or OM-2(n). I think there is a description of this procedure in the
FAQ.
There was a thread recently that, if I remember correctly, concluded that
metering off of the 2 series screens (as the OM-1(n) and OM-2(n) do) gives
differing results with different focal lengths. So the meter compensation
factor varies with focal length. This may be the reason that Olympus designed
the 2 series screens specifically not to fit the earlier models. I'm not sure
if the same holds true for the Beatties. I would guess not, since the
Beatties were intended to fit all of the OMs, and actually predate the OM-4,
I believe.
