Brian et al,
I had come across the advice to meter before shifting once before, and I
suppose that is why I posed the question to the list. With the lens stopped
down, there is a big change in light coming through the viewfinder at
extreme shifts - especially on a 'down' shift (or fall), but is this just an
artifact of the mirror/focusing screen? If it really reflects what happens
to light hitting the film, It would seem that metering before shifting might
give poor exposures. Whats the story behind the story?
Thanks,
Chip
