I've owned both the 21 and the 18, and consider the 21 more usable -
I frequently spend an entire day shooting it alone. The 18 is much
more of a special effects lens.
I eventually settled on 16, 21, 24, and 28 as my wide angle stable,
with a Kenko Fisheye adaptor for round fisheye images. The 21 and 28
get the most use.
