Production dates are on the back of the pressure plate for OM-1 through 2N.
It's in code. First symbol is the factory it was made at. , First number
is year: 5 for example, being 1975. Next number is month, 1-9, then X, Y,
and Z standing for month 10, 11 and 12. There may be a 3rd number which is
the number of the pressure plate, 1 through 5.
Be sure you put the pressure plate back the way it came out. Oldest OM-1
(short) pressure plates go in backwards compared to all other models.
Locking notch goes toward latch. All others, locking notch on pp goes
toward hinge. Push until it snaps.
OM-4 and up has the production date in the film chamber, printed in white
letters.

Subject: [OM] OM serial numbers
| Hi all,
|
| Is there a site where I could find production dates based on the serial
| numbers of my OM bodies and lenses? If there isn´t a site, does anybody
| have a list of all OM equipment serial numbers??
|
| Thank you,
| Tatu Laitinen
