Hi,
In the early 1980's there was a Pop Photo, or Modern Photo article on developing
the Kodak High-Contrast copy film in a way to bring the contrast to the normal
range. There were a few methods, but the easiest, and quickest was a method
using film cannisters (the ones you buy the film in), to measure the chemicals
for dilution. This is the method I used, and it was phenomenal. BUT, I haven't
been involved in that aspect for a long time, and have forgotten the specifics -
times, chemicals, etc.
The results from doing this yielded an incredibly fine grain structure
approaching a print from a regular 4x5 negative using plus-x, etc.
Does anybody remember this at all? I was thinking of getting back into it. If
you might know the magazine article and issue, I possibly would still have the
copy. (I don't even remember that).
Thanks,
Larry
