I've heard that rumor also along with discontinuing the M-1 and OM-10. ;-)
Yes, it has been discontinued for some time. It was a "lower cost" zoom
for entry level. Some of the marketing literature I had with my OM-10
circa 1980 showed the body with the 50/1.8 SC, 28/3.5 SC, and 75-150 SC as
a good beginning setup (all of which I bought new 20 years ago, but no
longer have). Oly didn't have any zooms in production for a while. Only
one Olympus OM zoom is in production, the very new 35-80/2.8; all the
others went out of production at one time or another. The 75-210/4.5-5.6
that is marketed under Oly's name is targeted for OM-2000 buyers and is
supposedly a Cosina.
