Since we're way OT, OM-wise, I'll put in a plug for one of my favorites...
The Canon T70 includes two metering modes - averaging and selective area, or
"fat spot." The fat spot measures a delineated area approximately twice the
diameter of the split-image RF/microprism focusing circle. If I'm recalling
correctly it's roughly 120f the total viewing area. Accurate enough for
everything I've done so far.
But a good used T70 and telephoto gets into the price range of a good used
handheld meter with spot metering and/or flash calculations.
So I wouldn't buy a particular camera just to use it as a lightmeter. I'd
buy it 'cause I needed the camera and it just happened to have useful
metering modes.

Yes, The CL only meters what Rand mentions. It's not the ideal answer.

I would love to have one anyway. I lusted in my heart right after it came
out
and the Minolta version also. I still do (sigh).
