OK, all you Zuikers, I could use a suggestion as to how to handle this
problem. My Winder 2 is not working correctly with my OM-2. With no film in
the camera, the winder works great, either in single or sequence mode.
Batteries are fresh. Tried more than one set. All battery and battery
compartment contacts are clean. With film in the camera it seems as though
the resistance is too much to allow the winder to advance the film. It will
fire the shutter and start to advance the film and rewind the shutter. Then
it stops. If I cock the shutter with the camera rewind/shutter cock lever,
the winder will fire the shutter again. Without the winder, the OM-2 works
flawlessly.
Could the internal winder gearing mechanism need lubrication? Or is it
possible that the internal winder gearing in the OM-2 needs lubricating? I
haven't taken the bottom off yet. Thought I would pick the brains and tap the
expertise of my fellow Zuikers before I do that. This OM-2 has never been
molested. <g> Perhaps I can keep her that way. But, I do want to get the
combination working. My OM-1s are prewinder models.
I'd also like to solve the winder problem before my 0M-4 comes back from John
H.
