Non-archival inks are fine for "personal" work but for anybody who wants
to sell their work as "art" it poses a real problem. Buyers don't want
their collection fading after a few months of display. And even in ideal
storage conditions (total darkness, controlled temp and humidity) the
inks decompose all by themselves, so museums won't touch them either.
The current generation inkjet prints are essentially only good for
"disposable" work like business reports or greeting cards or school
assignments, and personal images where you don't mind re-printing them
once in a while.
