Doris, in her decalogue extolling the virtues of Very Wide Lenses, enumerated:
>2.- How a composition changes with miniscule shifts in POV,
> what one could call the "plasticity of space".
The trouble is, when one gets too close, "plasticity of space" becomes
"elasticity of face!" :-)
(Doris makes a good point, of course, but that one was too good to pass up...)
Which brings to mind a famous photograph of Jimmy Durante (a.k.a. "The
Schnoz") in which the comedian's prominent proboscis was planted very close
to a wide angle lens? It brought to mind his famous line:
"...I was walkin' down the street one day, and a man comes up to me, and he
says, 'is dat your nose, or are you eatin' a bannnnn-NANA?'"
Does anyone know who took that picture?
