Hiya, Ray,
As a new Zuikoslave I'm hardly qualified to advise you. But I will offer
this. I got to fondle a lovely example of the 85-250 the other day and if
you don't mind the size and weight, it's everything people say. A
beautifully made piece of glass. Really, on any other camera, like my Canon
FTbn, it would be considered an average sized lens. Only on an OM does it
seem a bit large and heavy. Most other-brand zooms of this size and weight
don't even include a tripod mount. I wouldn't kick it out of my bed ... uh
... lens drawer.

I'd welcome opinions on an acquisition I'm planning, for some time in
the future...I'd like to stick to Zuiko lenses from now on. I'm aware that
there are four Zuiko zooms roughly equivalent to my Vivitar, namely, the
50-250, 65-200, 70-210 and 85-250...
