John, my suggestion is to have the transparencies scanned by a top quality
lab (not Kodak Photo CD) and do whatever tweaking is necessary at home on
Photoshop or a similar program. The final uncompressed file will need at
least a zip disk for storage, unless you have your own CD burner already (in
which case, you lucky dog!). Take that to a service bureau or printer than
can print it using the highest quality inkjet with archival inks and papers,
or a laser print (the correct term for which escapes me now, but is not an
ordinary laserjet).
