Ken,

Enjoyed your posting. Many say the same about Indiana; "Corn, corn, corn,
corn, corn, corn, corn, corn, soybeans . . . and corn." Many of the most
picturesque areas are nowhere near an Interstate Highway and not even close
to a U.S. Highway. Much of the best is found down some county section line
road 3-5 miles from the nearest State Highway . . . usually very near a
creek or river.

Suggestion:
Exploring 50-75 miles from where you live in various directions along (as
best you can) large creeks and small rivers using the section line roads.
You will find more of what you described near the end. In the grain belt,
many small towns have not changed much for decades. They can be *very*
interesting; the smaller and more remote, the better. Wish I had it
scannned: a shot of Sedalia, Indiana on Kodachrome 64 in the late
afternoon. The entire town; lock, stock, barrel and Post Office, with a
50mm lens from less than quarter mile away. The "town" is really an very
large and old grain elevator (still in use), large (unusual looking) barn,
Post Office, and a couple of houses.

Does this look anything like what you found with 3 ton weight limit? It
was miles from the nearest *State* Highway on a county section line road.

Sounds like you're on the right track with the buses in the barn!
