A fair number of these lenses are "Made in Korea" and are identical to a
Kalimar, which I think was strictly a marketing company. Actual
manufacturer, ???

I'll have to check those lenses more carefully. All the ones I used to have
were marked Made in Japan, but that's going back a fair piece.
I do have a 'Ritzcam' (nope, Ritz Camera denies it's theirs) zoom that's a
bit of a junker. It's a MIK, not MIJ.
With all the Asian contractors, subcontractors and sub-subs out there now,
it may be nigh-impossible in future to trace the ancestry of a lens.
