Hans,
I skimmed thru his (Mr. S. Horino) website.
This page http://ns.tic.or.jp/~horino/cw/camera.htm
describes and praises his M-1 and 40mm/f2.
They were purchased in March, 1982 and
February, 1985, respectively. The M-1
with a motor drive was bought used at about
US$250 and a brand new lens at about US$172.
Although he does not indicate what other
OM bodies he has, he does say he prefer
using manual focus camera with spot metering
capabilities.
Interestingly, he writes about Zuiko 50mm/f2
(non-macro) was announced just prior to
the announcement of the 40mm/f2, but the
50mm version was never released to market.
He mentions that he had replaced his M-1
skin with green leather since the original
skin became dirty from mountain climbing.
(his additional hobbies seems to be mountain
climbing and amature ham radio)
I think he is a member of Olympus Fan Club
in Japan where he has a hyper link:
http://www.omfan.com/
Maybe Mr. Maekawa (are you there ?) can
get more info.
