I've tried both the Beattie 82405, and the 2-4. They're about as bright but I
find the 2-4 ground glass easier to focus on. This is just my opinion, but the
Beattie just doesn't "snap in" as distinctly. I understand the Beattie ground
glass is actually tiny microprisms like the focusing aid that collars the spot
on Oly screens, so you would expect it to shimmer and then snap. Maybe it does,
but I just don't see it. I think they both would do, it's just a mater of
taste. I do have a 82401 on order with John H., as a I want a plain grid screen
for use with my 35 shift. Certainly one advantage of the Beatties is that they
have combinations that Oly just doesn't make (e.g. the 82405 spilt-image
diagonal with grid).

I'm looking at getting a brighter screen for my OM-4T, so I'd
like to get some input on the Beatie screens, how they look
and perform with respect to the Series 2 screens from Oly.
Thanks,
