You could try to place one or two layer of tape between the winder and
camera base. I have a MD-1 that doesn't work well with a OM40 but works fine
with my other OM bodies. It works fine when adding two layers of tape
(around 0.3-0.4mm) to increase the distance between the motor and camera.
