Hi Viv,
the bayonett-mount of my set of extention tubes is also tighter and don`t
slide as easy as mounting a lens. I guess this is intended to eliminate
vibration problems when using all tubes together.
All of mine tubes has phillips screws, and all of them are sunk correctly.
Seem`s your one`s has never been used before, when there are no
scratches on the surface (Congratulations). There are small scratces
on most (guess all, but don`t check it now) of my lens mounts.
But they have really no impact on the usability, so I don`t do anything against
them.
You might check the eveness of the rings with a ruler. You will easily find out
When a screw is loose, and the head is higher than the surface. That`s the
only possibility which may be troublesome. But a screwdriver might fix it ,
and it is not likely.
I assume that after some usage, they will be easyer to handle like mine.
