I don't think that you are without options here. It is true that you will
have to set a manual exposure via aperture that gives you a shutter speed of
1/30 or 1/60. Then you can take that aperture information to adjust the
flash output to give the correct fill. I would not rely on the automatic
features of the flash to do this but use the flash on complete manual (full,
1/2 ro 1/4) and adjusting flash to subject distance as needed.
