Ken,
I went to a 50th wedding anniversary last month using an OM 2000 with 200
kodak print film and kodak 100 Elite chrome. The first 2 rolls were the 200.I
was so busy taking pictures I forgot to reset the asa to 100 when I changed
films.Fortunately half the shots came out ok on the 100s because I was
shooting wide open in a much less then well lit part of the building on
those particular shots. The others were trash. Boy I [[[HATE]]] when that
happens!!!
almost ready to be put out to the AUTO EVERYTHING point and shoot
pasture....but we'll get over it

Subject: [OM] Beware of Bonehead with OM-2S

I know that I am:
1. Rusty
2. Distracted
3. Tired
But this was really stupid. I was photographing a banquet last night and
used my "wedding rig" which consists of my OM-2S, winder, Vivitar 5200
flash with homemade diffusion filter and angle bracket to position the
flash for vertical pictures.
I shot two rolls of film, but the beginning shots on each roll were ruined
because I failed to double-check the position of the mode switch. That's
right, I had the switch in manual instead of auto. Worse yet, the shutter
speed was set at 1/250.
I wouldn't have caught it except that the flash was doing full-dump even
for close-in shots. I put two and two together and checked over all the
settings and connections and discovered my mistake. Fortunately, I caught
my mistakes in time to redo most of the critical shots, but probably still
ruined 15 altogether. What really ticks me off, is that I did it twice!
If I could only get the G40 flash mounted off-camera I would probably
completely switch over to the IS-3 for wedding/event shooting.
Oh No! I just had a sinking feeling. You guessed it, I forgot to change
the ISO dial too. Whew, it was set on 160 and I was shooting Gold 200.
That was a lucky mistake.
The room was so dark last night (candlelight only), that everything was
guesswork.
