Hi Ranjan:
- - Can anyone on the list recommend using Graduated ND filters for
sunsets/ocean shots? I have not used these before. What is a good
brand ND filter to purchase?
Ah, a VERY GOOD accessory for hazy Florida skies. Best thing I had for
landscape photography when I was working in Florida. A gel filter holder
(the technical holder which is hinged) also works with a ND filter
sliced in half. Try a 4X filter for starters. You simply move the filter
up or down in the holder to get the edge in line with the horizon.
Don't ponder brands [of the glass ones] too much. Buy one, test it at
maximum aperture and if it degrades the picture, return it and try a
different brand or sample.
