Thanks for all the thoughtful replies. THey are really helpful. By
enlargement, I did indeed partial enlargement (i.e. different negative
areas to the same print size.

Apparently, you need to stop yourself waaaay down.... :-)

I'll be doing that, but thought I would learn from other's experiences
first. I'll summarize if I learn anything!

I love the lens, don't get me wrong. I bought mine new in Japan a few
years ago when I thought that the OM line was closing down (not quite
true, but prices are certainly up!). It works well until about the limit
with 25mm extension, which Olympus honestly lists as their recommended max
magnification. I occassionally want a bit more, but haven't sprung for the
bellows/variable tube and dedicated lens route.

I just acquired the 50 (from a student here at the University where I
teach, unfortunately I bought the unit on ebay after he had sold the rest
of his immaculate system -- he's now using Contax/Zeiss on his student
budget and sold the zuikos to get the pricier glass!).

I haven't had a chance to test it yet. My guess is that I can use it with
14+25 extension with good results -- and that's about the highest
magnification I normally use. Of course normal use is frighteningly
determined by available resources... :-)

Thanks everyone!
