Well, you are sure in the right place to get it fixed if it comes to that!
My first wild guess is condensation. Putting it in a warm dry place for a
while couldn't hurt.
Also try cycling the switch from Auto to Battery Check because in between
those marked switch positions is another unmarked one which performs a CPU
reset.
If those things don't fix it I would suggest taking it to Olympus. I
think there is a building, the Olympus Plaza?
