Well, I lost my head today and paid way too much for a 50-250. I'm excited
about the lens for my daughter's soccer games, but still. I've found that
the 85-250 is too bulky to easily use and I need wider than 85. That said, I
do really like the 85-250 and have been using it on a monopod quite
successfuly. The 65-200 is probably going to be nice (Still waiting for it
to arrive), but the 200 is a little short. So, the 50-250 seemed like a
good choice. Not the best specs according to Gary's tests, but ok for my
purposes. I use two bodies, so now I'll have it covered.
The question is which to keep. I like all the Zuiko zooms, but it's insane
to own them all. I do really like the 35-105 and have been keeping it on a
body too. It's more useful (I find) than the 35-70 and not that much
bigger. I think its a 'sleeper lens'.
I'm supposed to be selling, not buying (at least I tell myself), but I just
can't control it (he says as they strap him into the straightjacket).
I think I've got the collection pretty filled out though. The only things
left on my 'want list are':
90/2 Macro
35-80/2.8
and maybe a 21/3.5 (only because the 21/2 is so expensive. I have one, but
may sell it for the 3.5 if I can find a nice one).
Anyone want to sell the above...or even trade?
I guess Olaf's story just got me going again.
Tom
