It would appear that the aperture coupling mechanism is broken. If you
look at the rear of the lens, right side up, the tab on the right is the
aperture coupling tab. As you turn the aperture ring, this tab should
move by an equal amount for each stop (for both directions). It should
be rigidly coupled to the aperture ring. This tab signals to the body
the difference between the metering aperture and the aperture at which
the picture will be taken.
