Hi John, there are adapters to use some SLR lens on
Leica M mounts. These adapters do not couple to the RF
roller so you must scale focus the lens. This is
usually not a problem with focal lengths of 28mm or
less. If all you want to do is shoot at inf. then you
could use a longer lens and estimate the field of view
if the lens used does not have a frame provided by the
rangefinder camera. If you went the other direction
and adaped a RF lens to a SLR the setup would only
work for close up, and the lens would not focus to
inf.Hope this answers some of your questions.
