I use Astia as my general purpose film, and I really like it. Nice skin
tones, realistic colors and contrast. For punch I'll get some Provia-F or
E100VS, but the Astia suits my tastes fine for everyday work. I just
bought a 20 roll pack.

This translates for me as being able to cope better with high contrast
scenes. Velvia, and to some extent Provia, both lose shadow detail too
easily for my liking. Having said that, I've not noticed a huge difference
between Provia and Astia (or the amateur version of the latter, Sensia).
