Dear Zuiks,
one elaboration on this thread that I have not seen
mentioned is that some of the newer (sadly not OM) electronic cameras
measure the shutter speed each time the shutter is released and fine tune the
speed the next time it is set based on this feedback from the last shot(s).
In some of these cameras this is done with an infrared LED + sensor that then
makes these cameras uns*uitable for infra-red film which gets fogged by
the sensor LED. This adjustment means the camera can get pretty out of
whack before it needs a CLA.
