If you're using the sync socket, first make sure the switch is set to X and
not FP. I don't know why the Metz won't work, but the Norman is a common
problem with 1N and 2N.
There is a diode in the flash circuit that forces X sync at the shoe noi
matter where the sync switch is set. You need a polarity reversal cord for
your flash, that is, literally cutting your sync cord and reversing the
wiring. You flash should work after that.
