>>It is fairly easy then
to figure out how much a given quantity of liquid weighs (actually the mass
of it). Try to do that with feet, gallons and pounds!<<
A pint's a pound, the world around - - I can't believe you're spending time
teaching us the metric system. Every american learns it in school. Every
High School Chemistry and Physics class uses it. Of course it's easy. So
are a billion other things that people won't change. Most of us know that a
milliliter (American spelling) is a cubic centimeter and that a cubic
decimeter of water is a liter. We really think it's neato, especially when
we learn it. Then we go buy stuff in gallons and feet. Key words, buy
stuff. Until US and multinational companies believe it is_profitable_ to
switch, they won't. There is_very_ little here that is not market driven.
Even in our education.
