I had asked the list members for suggestions for photo shops in the
Portland, Oregon, area as I was making a one-day stopover to see my
daughter, Jen.
Thanks to Jan, Joseph, Skip, and Bob for their suggestions (and
especially Jan's generous offer of cappucino and a chat!)
Mary and Jen do not share my Oly enthusiasm, though they are
supportive and understanding. I called several shops and didn't find
anything Oly of interest, so stopped at Suburban Photo, in Beaverton,
enroute to the quilt shop - a hobby Mary, Jen and I DO share!
Suburban did have some used Oly stuff, mostly on consignment. OM2n
body with shoe $225 (pretty grim condition,) a couple of 75-150's, a
Winder2, and a Quick Auto 310 flash for $50.
Heads Up for those interested in macro stuff: I may be a little off
on the details, but saw an auto bellows, slide copier, and 80mm Zuiko
macro, all mounted on a double-rail setup, on consignment for $400.
Sorry, but I don't have Suburban's phone#.
It was a profitable stop, though. I bought a Bogen tripod to use with
my chronograph, and it was a treat to visit a real camera store.
Back to rain and reality in Sitka...:)
