Sometime last July or so I posted the whole setup procedure. That
posting was perhaps as counter-productive business-wise as this latest
posting about my experiences with a SMC Pentax, especially considering
all of our postings are searchable through Alta Vista. Suffice to say I
stick to using a tripod mounted OM-2000, with a 135mm f/4.5 macro, at
f/16~22 and mirror/diaphragm prefire. I scan my negs, but I could
shortcut and use a digital camera. However, it helps justify my
substantial investment into the OM macro system.
Lighting plays a big role in attractive product photography - and can
cost a fortune. The coolest product I saw has been at the last two PMA
shows. It looks like an MRI unit that would accept a midget. But instead
of bombarding the subject with magnetic radiation, it has banks of
lights that can be individually controlled. The effects were displayed
on a video monitor and it was so cool.
